The idea behind the White County Kindness Coalition grew out of something that had been noticed over many years.
While serving in pastoral ministry in multiple communities across Indiana, Ross Osborn repeatedly encountered people walking through difficult seasons. In nearly every situation, compassion was present. Neighbors cared. Churches stepped in. Local organizations worked hard to serve those in need.
But there was also something else that became increasingly clear.
Sometimes people simply needed to be pointed toward the right resources. Sometimes organizations doing great work simply needed additional support. And sometimes the help someone needed was simple. In many cases it was a word of encouragement, a connection to the right person or resource, or practical support to help them get through a difficult season.
The generosity was there.
The resources were often there.
What was missing was a simple way to connect them.
That realization eventually led to a simple but important question:
What would happen if there were a trusted way to connect willing people, existing resources, and real needs in the community?
Over time that question grew into a deep conviction that communities thrive when generosity, service, and opportunity to help are brought together in one place.
As that conviction grew, Ross began sharing the vision with others and assembling community minded individuals who shared the same heart and desire to make a difference through kindness and service.
Together, that shared vision led to the launch of the White County Kindness Coalition, a simple hub where kindness, generosity, and service can come together to meet real needs in the community.
The coalition was never intended to replace the good work already happening in the community. Instead, its purpose is to help strengthen it by connecting people, organizations, and resources so that needs can be met more quickly and compassionately.
Communities are already filled with everyday heroes.
Sometimes they simply need the opportunity to serve.
And that is why the White County Kindness Coalition exists today, to help everyday heroes find the opportunity to serve. We invite you to join us in making a difference in White County and beyond.
We are currently working towards helping single parent households who have school-aged children with grocery support.
